April 30, 1996
- A link to Robert Beard's directory of On-line Dictionaries has been
added to LANIC's Reference page.
- The sites of Pangaea and Luso Brazilian Books have
been added to our Publications page.
- The Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, FLACSO is
now linked from the Academic Research Resources section of the Chile page.
- Three new sites have been added to the list of WWW Servers on our Colombia page: SIN
Telematica, the
Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) and the Politecnico
Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid.
- The World Health Organization (PAHO) and the Camara de Comercio e
Industria de Cortes have new websites in
Honduras.
- The Belize Network has been added to our list of WWW servers in
Belize.
- A link to the Augusto Cesar Sandino page has been added from our
Nicaragua page.
- Casa Alianza has been added to the
Guatemala page.

- Interested in the latest news from Brazil? UT-LANIC's Brazil service
establishes a new link to Brazilian mass media, including book publishers,
television, and newspapers. What's especially interesting is the on-line
appearance of regional newspapers such as Diario do Nordeste for the

- Mexico's art is
proliferating on the Net. Check out the Artes e Historia-Foro Virtual

- Guatemala Weekly (in English) is now listed in the News

- Central American News has been added to our

our Brazil page.
The first offering is entitled Sustainable Settlement in the Brazilian
Amazon by Anna Luiza Ozorio de Almeida and Joao S. Campari.
- Full text of the following papers have been added to our LASA95 Pilot Project page:

- Links to the Charles Darwin Research Station, and to the Universidad
Tecnologica Equinoccial, have been added to our Ecuador page.
- Three new
links have been added to our Colombia page: REDNET, an
Internet Service Provider, in the "Network and Information Services"
section; Corporacion de Turismo del Valle de Cauca in "Travel & Tourism";
and the Universidad Nacional, under "WWW Servers".
- Detailed information on Peru's agricultural sector compiled by
PeruNet al Dia can now be located on the Agriculture
page. Look for the link under Government Resources.
- PeruNet al Dia's homepage is linked from the Peru page under
the subheading General. Economic data extracted from PeruNet is located
in the Economy section of the Peru page. A link to the Corporacion Andina
de Fomento - CAF, a financial institution that acts as a bridge between
international financial markets and the Andean region, has been placed
in Peru's Business & Finance section.
April 8,
1996 - Several new links have been added to the Peru page. Look for the
Comision de Derechos Humanos y Pacificacion and the Ministerio
de Justicia, both in the Government Section. Under General, you
will find a link to Derechos Humanos en Peru, assembled by
Spain based Equipo Nizcor.
- The Jamaica page
now
includes a link to the Agreement Establishing the Caribbean
Development Bank, a United Nations Agreement signed in Kingston,
Jamaica in 1969.
- The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research -
CGIAR, part of the World Bank, is linked from the International
Resources section of the Agriculture page.
- Network & Information Services now appear on the
Uruguay page. Various
Internet services are provided through the Administracion Nacional
de Telecomunicaciones del Uruguay.
- The Uruguay page
reveals
new links to Uruguayan perspectives on Mercosur, and information related

are two new resources now listed on our

- A link to the BCIE (Banco Centroamericano de Integracion Economica)

implemented a new facility for browsing and posting Conference
Announcements on the World Wide Web. If you have an announcement for

- UNICEF's area office for Peru and Paraguay has been linked from the
Peru page. Look under the
sub-heading "General."
- Cinema page
updated with two new links to Chilean web pages: Cine, Arte y Movimiento
from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica and Pantalla Magazine.
- The Latin American Political Database at Georgetown University has
assembled a page comparing constitutional mandates for the Fuerzas
Publicas of various Latin American countries. Follow the link from our Military page.
- The Costa Rica page
contains a new link to the Rainforest Outward Bound School.

- The US-Mexico
subject directory now links to the Texas Centers for Border Economic and
Enterprise Development (TCBEED) page, maintained by Texas A&M
International University in Laredo, Texas. It aims to provide
"information
and technical assistance" on the business community of the US-Mexico
border region.
