Hello: I wonder if you would post the following announcement on your
LANIC "Latin American Studies Conferences and Calls for Paper"
page.

The International Communication and Negotiation
Simulation (ICONS) Project at the University of Maryland teaches
undergraduate students how to negotiate by involving them in
role-playing exercises using the Internet.

ICONS currently has a three-year grant from the Fund for the
Improvement of Postsecondary Education, US Department of Education,
which allows us to offer a simulation on the "International Relations
of the Americas" to interested faculty and their students -- free of
charge. The next simulation is scheduled for April 13 to May 1,
1998. Visit our Web site at <http://www.icons.umd.edu> or e-mail Dr.
Brigid Starkey, ICONS Associate Director at <bstarkey@bss2.umd.edu>
for more information on training and registration.
