I am the coordinator of an international fellowship program at the
Atlantic Center for the Environment in Massachussets. We will be
conducting a fellowship program this summer for Latin American
environmental professionals/activists. The program's broad goals are to
provide training and professional development for conservation leaders
from the Caribbean and Latin America, promote an exchange of ideas
and innovations in the area of landscape conservation and stewardship,
and strengthen the capacity of NGOs in both regions to conserve natural
areas through stewardship. The program consists of a six week study
tour of New England with internship assignments and case studies. The
Atlantic Center pays all expenses for the participants. The requirements
are: a strong commitment to environmental/sustainable development
issues as demonstrated by past work as an NGO manager, citizen activist,
organizer and/or educator, an ability to make use of and share the
fellowship experience in oneUs work at home, and proficiency in English.
I'm asking your help in identifying Environmental/Sustainable
Development organizations and/or citizen's groups who might be
interested in sending a participant. I appreciate your help as we're in the
process of recruiting participants and would like to get the word out to to
potential participants as soon as possible.
Thank you much,
Alex Aguilar
