1) Exact dates for the major expropriations of Catholic Church property in
Latin America during the 19th century, along with the amount and type of
property expropriated. (I am particularly interested in arable
farmland). To date, my only detailed resource is J. Lloyd Mecham's book
on church and state in L.A.
2) Economic data on the commercialization of agriculture in Latin
America during the 19th century. Time series data are necessary for the
study I am undertaking. Data could include % of land devoted to
agro-export; quantification of agro-exports in terms of (real) prices
and/or physical quantity, etc.
3) Any good studies on the expansion of commercial agriculture in L.A.
during the 19th century.
