The New Mexico State University Library gopher provides access to several
unique news sources relating to the US-Mexico Border and Latin America,
especially Mexico. News stories from several internet sources (lists,
newsgroups, WWW servers, etc.) on Mexico, the Border, and Immigration are
compiled and loaded several times weekly, providing a (roughly)
chronological look at regional news. In addition, the gopher includes
links to other important resources such as the Univ of Texas LANIC,
the Red Cientifica Peruana, and news compilations from Mexican sources
such as the ITESM--Chihuahua, UA de Juarez and UNAM--Mexico.

The NMSU gopher provides access to WWW servers also. The <HTML> after a
gopher menu item indicates a link to the WWW. Most of the information will
be accessible if your computer uses lynx, or another text-based WWW
browser; the full WWW graphics will be there if you are running Mosaic,
Netscape or another WWW browser.

To use these resources, gopher to <lib.nmsu.edu>. Follow the path:
Resources by Subject/
Border & Latin America Information/
etc...

If you would like to construct a link in your own gopher, the following
information should help:
Type=1
Name=Border & Latin America Information--NMSU
Path=1/.subjects/.border
Host=lib.nmsu.edu
Port=70

Internet resources relating to Latin America continue to multiply
rapidly. If you know of a source that should be included--especially
something relating to the Border or Mexico--please contact:
