CALL FOR A NATIONAL DAY FOR PEACE IN MEXICO

February 14, 1995

To national press
To peace and human rights organizations
To the people of the United States

Brothers and sisters:

Again the arrogance of the powerful extends over
Mexican sky. It was not enough to leave the people of
Mexico in poverty and the historic load of
exploitation. For those, the powerful, those that
have no nation except that of money and capital, it was
necessary to spill indigenous and mestizo blood to
satisfy their ambitions of profit and money.

And it is they who have ordered the bombing
against the peoples of Chiapas. It is they who arm the
Mexican Army in order to attack the Zapatistas, the
most dignified. They were the same who made war in
Vietnam, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Granada,
Panama protecting "their oil, their markets, their
capital, their national security."

It is they who "defend democracy at gunpoint,"
with invasions, with dictatorships, with the pillage of
the wealth of peoples.

It is they who violate sovergnity and independence
of our peoples with treaties of "free trade", sucking
the life and strength of the most defenseless, of us.

"They" now have a name:

Chase Manhattan Bank, International Monetary Fund,
World Bank, Federal Reserve Bank, Treasury Department,
Mutual Funds, Heritage Foundation, CIA.

They are the ones who ask for Mexican indigenous
blood as the only guarantee for the 51 billion bail
out. They are the ones who, along with the government,
have declared war against the people of Mexico.

It is now us, the faceless, the ones who are all, ALL
MARCOS, THAT WILL NOT ALLOW THIS MASSACRE TO HAPPEN
AGAIN.

The National Commission for Democracy-USA makes the
following call to action:

NATIONAL DAY FOR PEACE IN MEXICO
Friday, February 17

Demonstrations and protests should be centered in the
following places:

- Offices of Chase Manhattan Bank

- Mexican consulates and Embassy

- Offices of the International Monetary Fund

- Any place related to the Federal Reserve Bank,
Heritage Foundation, the Department of Treasure and
Mutual Funds.

La Patria Vive!

Para Todos Todo, Nada Para Nosotros!

No a la Guerra! Si a la Paz con Justicia y Dignidad!

Fuera Tropas Federales de Territorio Zapatista!

Todos Indios, todos Marcos!
