Just to add a bit to the above, I have been archiving much of the news
that has been posted to the net from various sources, especially the LA
JORNADA stories, on the NMSU Library gopher. The files are straight (no
graphics) text--and I have tried to load them in chronological packets.
The packets also include postings from Peacenet conferences such as
reg.mexico. There is probably some duplication in the files as I am
trying to load each news story as I get it. Some things get posted more
than once and I don't have the time to weed out the duplications. The
files are current as of Feb 24 and I am updating as time permits. The
archive goes back to August 1994, and earlier Chiapas News is archived
elsewhere but accessible through this menu.
If you are using gopher, you can access the news in the following path:
gopher lib.nmsu.edu/Resources by Subject/Border & Latin American
Information/Border & Latin American News/Mexico & Border News From
Internet Resources.
If you would like to link to this news from your own gopher or WWW, the
URL is:
gopher://lib.nmsu.edu:70/11/.subjects/.border/.news/.netnews
I'm hoping this archive will be around for a while and will prove useful
to those researching this turbulent year in Mexico.
