Hello there Ted.....
Perhaps my first mail did not get to you. This is why Im sending you this
message thru a Reply.
As I explained in the other message, my Great Aunt and my Grandmother are
both PAVON, daughters of Nabor Pavon, who was a member of the family of
Jose' Mari'a Morelos y Pavon. Yet, in all my talks with my grandmother and
my aunt, no mention of your claim (that Jose' Mari'a Morelos y Pavon was part
Afro) was ever made.
I urge you to tell me what your sources are. How do you base your claim that
Jose' Mari'a Morelos y Pavon was part black? If you can provide some sources
about this claim, I want to know about this. If you cannnot provide these
sources, I would ask you to please abstain from making references about my granmother's ancestor until you are able to substain your claims.
As I told you in the other message, I have noticed some family resemblances
between a painting of Jose' Mari'a Morelos y Pavon made at the time and
one of my uncles. In all honesty, Jose' Mari'a did not look very dark in that painting.
Dont get me wrong. I have some great friends who are black and I have nothing
against black people. I do, however, want to see your claims substantiated
by some documentation, specially if you talk about Morelos. Its just a bit
too close to home.
I'm willing to discuss this openly or privately or on the phone, or in person.
I'm allways open to frank, peaceful dialog.
