Con ocasion del IV Centenario del viaje de Alvaro de
Mendenya en que descubrio las islas Marquesas y al grup
de las Santa Cruz, el Instituto de Estudios Historico-
Maritimos del Peru, la Asociacion de Historia Maritima
y Naval Iberoamericana y otras entidades naciones y
extranjeras anuncian el coloquio Internacional America
y Oceania.
El Coloquio no se centrara excusiva ni excluyentemente
en Mendanya, ni siquiera en lo historico. Esta abierto
al espectro de posibilidades que esa relacion encierra,
cabiendo temas historico, politicos, economicos, etc.

On the occasion of the IV Centenary of Alvaro de
Mendanya's voyage which discovered the Marquesas and
Santa Cruz Islands, the Institute for Historic Maritime
Studies of Peru, the Association of Iberoamerican
Maritime and Naval History, and other national and
international societies announce International
Coloquium on America and Oceania.
The Coloquim's theme should be interpreted in the
widest possible fashion. Papers are invited with
historic, political, economic, and other focuses that
do not necessarily have to be exclusively or directly
related to Mendenya or the sixteenth century.
