Dear LASNET subscribers,

With the Summer rapidly coming to a close, and in response to several recent
inquiries, we are posting this "reminder" with brief instructions on how to
change the status of your list subscription.

First, please keep in mind that there are three different e-mail addresses
associated with this list. If you have questions or concerns regarding
commands or operations of the list itself, they should be directed to
LASNET staff at this address:

lasnet-request@uts.cc.utexas.edu

If you wish to post a message or a reply to ALL subscribers on the list,
the address is:

lasnet@mcfeeley.cc.utexas.edu

Please remember that only subscribers can post to this list, and the software
only recognizes posting requests if they are sent from an account which is
subscribed. Keep this in mind if you use more than one e-mail account or if
you use mail forwarding.

The third address is for commands which are sent directly to the
listprocessor itself:

listproc@mcfeeley.cc.utexas.edu

When sending commands to the listprocessor, leave the subject line blank, and
include only one line of text in the message body. If you wish to temporarily
stop receiving mail from LASNET, send the following command:

set lasnet mail postpone

Then, to begin receiving mail again:

set lasnet mail ack

If you wish to leave the list, if you are changing your e-mail address, or
if the host computer where you have your account has its name changed, you
need to unsubscribe:

unsubscribe lasnet Yourfirstname Yourlastname

And then subscribe from the new account:

subscribe lasnet Yourfirstname Yourlastname

Finally, to obtain instructions on other commands, send the following message:

help

You will receive a document listing all available commands and the procedure
for executing them. We hope you find this reminder useful.
