Queridos lectores del newsgroup soc.culture.latin-america,
El proposito de este mensaje es anunciar el programa de maestria:
Master's Programme in Applied Environmental Measurement Techniques
ofrecido por la Universidad Tecnologica Chalmers, en Goteborg, Suecia.
Ojala alguna persona latioamericana tenga interes, aplique, y pueda venir.
Me parece una buena oportunidad para capacitar gente interesada en mejorar
la calidad ambiental de nuestros paises. No hay que pagar cuotas para la
educacion, unicamente hay que tener suficiente para vivir (ver detalles en
el anuncio). Hay que aplicar lo antes posible a becas, p.ej., al
instituto sueco (pedir info en la embajada sueca). Se que hay muchas
otras instituciones (incluso la Union Europea) que otorgan becas para
estudiar en Europa. Por favor difundan el anuncio a sus colegas y amigos.
Es recomendable aplicar al programa (LO ANTES POSIBLE) aun sin tener una
beca segura pues, si el aplicante es aceptado, le sera mas facil conseguir
una beca. Noten que la fecha limite es el 2 de mayo de 1996. Con gusto
puedo responder preguntas generales. Preguntas especificas sobre el
programa pueden ser respondidas por los organizadores (ver el anuncio).
Mi proposito e interes con esto es colaborar con la formacion de recursos
humanos para el desarrollo de nuestro continente, asi como ayudar a mis
colegas en Chalmers para que el programa sea un exito. De hecho, la
primera promocion esta caminando mejor que lo esperado.

Master's Programme in Applied Environmental Measurement Techniques
Chalmers University of Technology will give an international MSc
programme in Applied Environmental Measurement Techniques. The
programme starts in September 1996 and ends in May 1997. A thesis
that will take about 3-4 months to accomplish follows. The whole
programme will be given in English using the method PBL,
Problem-Based Learning. At least 15 of the 30 students should be from
foreign countries. The four main themes are 1. Aquatic Environment 2.
Geohydrology and Geochemistry 3. Air quality and 4. Global
Environmental problems and Biogeochemical Cycles. Three additional
themes will be integrated into the main themes: Environmental
Statistics, Environmental Databases and Environmental Legislation.
Applicants are expected to show proficiency in English, e g by a
TOEFL test. A B Sc in a scientific or technical subject is required,
or studies corresponding to the three first years at a university of
technology in Sweden. Application date: 2 May 1996. NO FEE! Brochures
