Highly respected Chicago Photographer Charles Shabes is opening a gallery
in January and has asked me to show "I Do Not Want To Become Lost:
Photographs of Street Children in Guatemala and Peru" - actually, he asked
me to be the opening show but I can't do that because I am in Guatemala at
the end of December, beginning of January - so I will do February. I am
both thrilled and scared to death - my first major show... do I have enough
picutres... are they "good" enough... will people like them... will they
like them enough to buy them... these questions are running though my mind
at break neck speed.

Also, Casa Alianza, the largest organization (and in some places the only
organization) prividing direct services to street kids has asked me to
submit a series of 24 pictures for them to select 12 for a 1997 calendar
that they will pubish and market as a fund raising thing next Christmas.

More details on the show will be forthcoming. Anyone wanting to receive a
post card announcing the show - with one of my very beautiful (even if I do
say so my self) photographs on it, please send my your surface mail
address and I will put you on the list to receive one. We may do a poster
that we will sell for $15 each to cover the costs of the show... we are not
yet sure about that. Details later. If you are interested in one (or more),
let me know.

Half of my proceeds from picture sales will be donated to Casa Alianza as
without their support, my pictures could not have been made.

I am very nervous about this.

Oh boy... do I have work to do.
