Timely and controversial documentary looks at Cuba's future
from the outspoken and dynamic perspective of Cuban youth.

"When the Dance is Over" - Profiles the famous dancers of the
Tropicana outdoor nightclub in Havana who discuss the difficulties
of their work and dealing with stereotyped public attitudes
towards them.

"I'll Go to Santiago" - A gentle, loving portrait of Santiago de Cuba
and its people.

"Mama Goes to War" - A serio-comic documentary which follows
a group of women through their military training for the territorial
militia.

Monroe's life with contemporaneous political events.

"She Sold Candies" - A biting social comentary about a metallurgical
engineer who, consistently refused work because she was a woman,
decides she's better off making and selling candies.

"We've Got Rhythm" - Interviews with elderly local musicians
trace the history of Cuban music and its basic instruments.

"Sister to Sister: Women's Delegation to Cuba" - Highlights the
activities of 70 American women during a recent conference
in Cuba earlier this year.

A dark comedy, "Guantanamera" was director Tomas Gutierrez Alea's
last film and sequel to his 1967 "Death of a Bureaucrat".
The successful team of Alea's "Strawberry and Chocolate" was
brought together once more for this film. His close friend and
colleague, Juan Carlos Tabio co-directed and his wife Mirta
Ibarra and Jorge Perugorria played leading roles.
This screening is one of the first to be shown in the U.S.
Directed by Tomas Gutierrez Alea and Juan Carlos Tabio.
Starring Mirta Ibarra, Jorge Perugorria, Carlos Cruz, Raul
Eguren and Conchita Brando. 1995. 101 minutes.
