The Latin American Studies Program invites applications for a tenure-track
position at the rank of assistant professor commencing on September 1,
2000. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Applicants must have
completed a PhD by the time of appointment and demonstrate clear promise of
excellence in research, as well as effectiveness in teaching at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. A research focus on economic
development and policy with a regional focus on Brazil or the Andes is
preferred. Applicants should send a covering letter describing their
