1.  [Text] Commander in Chief Fidel Castro presided in our capital over the
awards ceremony for outstanding workers and collectives from the entire
country. During the solemn ceremony, Fidel awarded the Work Hero of the
Republic of Cuba Medal and the Lazaro Pena Order to first grade to four workers
who have accumulated extraordinary feats in the defense of the fatherland and
achievements of the revolution. The commander in chief also presented the
banner of the 16th Congress of the Cuban Workers Federation [CTC] to 17
outstanding collectives from throughout the country. During the ceremony, 14
workers received the 16th CTC Congress seal. At the end of the event, Fidel
chatted with delegates and guests to the workers congress.
