Yadira Garcia Vera, first secretary of the Communist Party in Matanzas, will chair a ceremony where citrus farms workers from Union de Reyes and Jaguey Grande Municipalities will announce production pledges for the citrus campaign which starts today. Candido Palmero Hernandez, first secretary of the Communist Party in Havana, stated the need to speed up soil preparation for the winter planting campaign. Palmero visited the vegetable and tuber farms in Artemisa, Alquizar, Guira de Melena, and San Antonio de los Banos Municipalities. Palmero "criticized the bad work performed in plantain farms in Alquizar, which used the microjet system, and which are under the charge of the Youth Labor Army." Alfredo Jordan chaired in Villa Clara Province a meeting of the province's Communist Party of Cuba. Jordan stressed the need to increase food production efforts.
