Call for Papers--Dactylus, Journal of Literature, Linguistics and
Culture of the Dept. of Spanish and Portuguese,
UT-Austin is seeking submissions that address literatures in the Spanish or Portuguese languages as well as general aspects of Peninsular and Lusa-Hispanic American culture. Articles, notes, reviews and interviews that do not necessarily follow an academic style will also be accepted. Poetry, narrative, theater, and testimonio are welcome. Collaborations should be sent anonymously and include on a separate sheet the title of the work, name, address, and . Send two hard copies and a copy on diskette in Word 6. All works should correspond to the 5th edition of the MLA Handbook. Employment Opportunities

Associate Vice President for International Programs, UT-Austin. The Associate VP has administrative responsibility for the International Office, institutional exchange programs, Visiting Scholars, and oversight of the UT legislative modernization projects in Central America. S/he coordinates and organizes UT participation in certain international
fellowship competitions and writes proposals to fund UT participation in international programs, among other responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a tenured member of the UT-Austin faculty with intellectual leadership,
substantial international experience, a record of obtaining and administering funds from federal agencies and foundations, and a history of congenial and constructive relationships with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and administrators.
