A public forum will be hosted by the Center for Latin American Studies featuring Brazil's first lady, Dr. Ruth Cardoso; Jose Serra, Brazilian Minister of Health; Paulo Renato Souza, Brazilian Minister of Education; and other prominent policymakers from Brazil and the U.S. The conference will address global economic integration in the Americas with topics such as: the impact of globalization on Brazil; perspectives on labor in the Americas; and social problems and political alternatives. FELLOWSHIPS, GRANTS, AND RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES Bi-National Business Grants to Mexico. The U.S.-Mexico Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange offers 15 grants of tuition and stipend for U.S. students to pursue studies in business, law, and/or engineering while interning at Mexico-based corporations. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, have a B.S./B.A . in engineering, accounting, business, law, or economics and/or an M.S./M.A. in business or international business administration, international relations, or economics from a U.S. university, a minimum of two years' U.S. experience in business, and proficiency in Spanish. Students will live and work in Mexico from Sept. 2000-June/July 2001 and take two graduate-level courses per trimester (two nights per week) while working 9:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. five days per week.
