EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Assistant Professor of History, University of Scanton, Scranton, PA. Tenure-track position beginning Sept. 2000 requires Ph.D. and teaching experience. Responsibilities include teaching courses in Latin American history and participation in the development of a new interdisciplinary program in Latin American studies. Additional interests in Asian, African,
Middle Eastern, or gender history would be helpful. The successful candidate should be able to support the Catholic and Jesuit tradition and spirit through his/her work in history. Republic of Mexico Solidaridad Endowed Presidential Scholarship. Available for Mexican citizens who are pursuing any academic major at the undergraduate or graduate level at UT-Austin. The scholarship is intended to support research that will be incorporated into a thesis, policy report, or dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a graduate degree. Joint Research Fellowship and Visiting Professorship, John Carter Brown Library, Brown University, Providence, RI, and Dept. of Hispanic Studies, Connecticut College, New London, CT. Applications are invited from established scholars who are citizens of Spain and Spanish America for one semester during the 2000-2001 academic year. Summer 2000 Library Travel Research Grants, Center for Latin American Studies, University of Florida, Gainesville. Three awards of up to $750 each will be made to cover travel and living expenses of faculty and graduate students who wish to use the extensive resources of the UF Latin American Collection May 15-Aug. 14.
