EXHIBITS
Unlocking the Secrets of Ancient Writing: The Parallel Lives of Michael Ventris and Linda Schele and the Decipherment of Mycenaean and Mayan Writing,
an exhibit in the Benson Latin American Collection Rare Books Room that examines two of the most famous decipherments of ancient writing of the last century. Items are included from the collections of the UT Classics Dept. Program in Aegean Scripts and Prehistory (PASP), Dr. Linda Schele, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. FELLOWSHIPS, GRANTS, AND RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
Summer Library Research Fellowship in Latin American Studies, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
One $1,500 grant to a college teacher conducting research in Latin American Studies during the summer of 2000. The fellow is expected to be in residence at Cornell as a Visiting Scholar for a minimum of one month.
