EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Chief of Party for U.S.-Mexico Judicial Exchange Program, National Center for State Courts, Mexico City. The successful candidate will organize bilateral conferences, manage court-to-court exchanges, and develop seminars and workshops for judges and court personnel on a variety of court management and judicial reform topics. Candidates must be bilingual in English/Spanish and possess extensive knowledge of U.S. judicial procedures, court management, court technology, and judicial education programs. Knowledge of the Mexican legal/judicial system and recent judicial reform programs is important. An advanced degree is preferred. Period of contract will run through September 2000, or longer, depending on funding. Program Assistant, The Inter-American Dialogue, Washington, DC The premier center for policy analysis and exchange on Western Hemisphere affairs is recruiting a program assistant to support the Democracy program. Current projects focus on Colombia, press freedom, and research on democratic governance. Responsibilities include organizing conferences and meetings, attending and reporting on meetings in Washington, DC, and drafting and editing correspondence, papers, reports, and proposals. The ideal candidate will have recently completed a bachelor's degree, have an outstanding academic record, and a strong interest in pursuing a career related to Latin America. Must be fluent in Spanish and possess exceptional writing, organizational, and analytic and computer skills.
