The data bases indexed below were originally published in CD-ROM format by BIREME, as part of a project sponsored by the IDRC. Most of the data bases consist of bibliographic records; some include abstracts.
Subject matter covered in the data bases spans a variety of fields related to the development process: Agriculture and biotechnology; banking and finance; social sciences, economy and state reform; education, children, and family. As of May 1998, a total of 16 data bases have been converted and tested, making available for searching 240,776 records. There are two alternatives available for searching the data bases.
The first option is to conduct searches in individual data bases by selecting from the list below. A brief description of the contents of each data base can also be accessed by clicking on one of the data base names below.
The second option is to select one or more of the data bases from a scrolling menu and then type in your search criteria. This method allows you to search the contents of multiple data bases simultaneously.
