Objectives
The objectives of this debriefing are to provide the delegates in New
York with first hand information on and analysis of the outcome of the
Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary
Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group. More specifically the focus will be
on the discussions and decisions of the Interim Committee of the IMF and
the Development Committee of the World Bank and the IMF, all of which
will take place in Washington, DC, during the last week of September,
1999. Delegates will have the opportunity to comment and seek answers
from IMF and World Bank staff members on any pertinent matters of interest.
Organization
The debriefing will consist of lectures, briefings and in-depth analysis
of the topics under discussion with interventions from practitioners,
analysts and academics, from the two institutions as well as from academia.
