of Latin American Studies LLILAS at UT-Austin
Founded in 1940, ILAS is a language and national resource center under Title VI of the Higher Education Act, integrating more than 30 academic departments at the University of Texas at Austin. ILAS offers programs that lead to the B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees. The LLILAS Web Site includes information on the academic programs, activities and resources, a weekly calendar of events, and links to the wealth of Latin America-related resources on campus. American Periodicals Tables of Contents LAPTOC
This Project seeks to create a prototype for fully connected collections for Latin American studies. Institutional participants in the Project include the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and 53 ARL Libraries. These participating libraries have accepted institutional collecting responsibilities for a cross-section of over 800 journals published in 29 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The collecting responsibilities include acquiring each issue of the journal and making available through rapid delivery interlibrary loan, articles found in the journal.

Data Base
This ILAS-sponsored initiative seeks to put job seekers in contact with employers in Latin America or with Latin America-related organizations. The site includes a data base of job openings and of resumes, as well as links to useful resources for those interested in Latin America-related careers.
- Latin
American Studies Network LASNET Mailing List
LASNET is an electronic mailing list of over 600 Latin Americanists from a wide variety of academic disciplines. The purpose of LASNET is to facilitate the transmission of information among Latin Americanists worldwide. Discussions on the list can be conducted in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. An archive of all messages posted to the list is hosted on LANIC.
