LAOAP: Collection Development Policy

LAOAP will include digital information resources produced in and about Latin America. The administrators anticipate that its principal users will be students and scholars of the region. However, LAOAP's presence on the Internet, and its conformation to Open Archives standards, makes it accessible to a more general audience, as well.

In its initial phase, LAOAP will concentrate its holdings in the social sciences. Report literature, working papers and other genres published by non-commercial entities and, thus, fugitive in the booktrade comprise the bulk of the collection. To view a list and description of current contributors, please consult our Project Partners and Data Providers page.

Additions to LAOAP will be the responsibility of its portal subcommittee, whose three members will identify and acquire new content and review policies that govern the scope of the collection.

LAOAP encourages interested parties to suggest additional resources to its portal subcommittee; contact David Block.
