Human Rights Documentation Initiative

The HRDI is committed to the long-term preservation of fragile and vulnerable records of human rights struggles worldwide, the promotion and secure usage of human rights archival materials, and the advancement of human rights research and advocacy around the world.

Archivo Histórico de la Policía Nacional

A product of broad international collaboration, these digitized documents from the Guatemalan National Police Historical Archive (AHPN) aim to facilitate scholarly and legal research into a vast cache of historical documentation.

Archive of the Indigenous Languages of the Americas

AILLA is a digital archive of recordings and texts in and about the indigenous languages of Latin America. Access to AILLA and its resources is always free of charge. Most of the resources in the collection are available to the public, but some have special access restrictions.

Primeros Libros de las Américas

The Impresos Mexicanos del Siglo XVI project will build a digital collection of the first books printed in Mexico before 1601. These monographs are very important because they represent the first printing in the New World and provide primary sources for scholarly studies focused on a variety of academic fields.

VOCES Oral History Project

The VOCES project seeks to document and create a better awareness of the contributions of Latinos and Latinas of the WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War generations.

Archivo de José María Luis Mora

The Archivo de José María Luis Mora digital archive contains scanned copies of over 600 documents, both manuscripts and printed works, from the Mora archive, as well as an exhaustive guide describing the collections.

The Papers of George Lister

George Lister, once called "Mr. Human Rights" by historian Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. served as a diplomat at the U.S. Department of State for more than 60 years, from 1941 to 2003. "To our hopeless cause!" was Lister's spirited and humorous way of punctuating a conversation on human rights - the cause to which he dedicated his life.

Latin American Network Information Center

LANIC's mission is to facilitate access to Internet-based information to, from, or on Latin America. Our target audience includes people living in Latin America, as well as those around the world who have an interest in this region.

Latin American Government Documents Archive

LAGDA seeks to preserve and facilitate access to a wide range of ministerial and presidential documents from 18 Latin American and Caribbean countries. The Archive contains copies of the Web sites of approximately 300 government ministries and presidencies.

Selections from the Benson Collection

Portions of some of the archival collections from the Benson Collection's Rare Books and Manuscripts division have been digitized and are available for online viewing. These are mostly collections of photographs, but also includes some documents and ephemera.

Castro Speech Data Base

The Castro Speech Data Base includes speeches, interviews, etc., by Fidel Castro from 1959 to 1996. All texts are in English. The collection contains the full-text translations of speeches, interviews, and press conferences by Fidel Castro, based upon the records of the Foreign Broadcast Information Service, a U.S. government agency responsible for monitoring broadcast and print media in countries throughout the world.

Latin American Open Archives Portal

LAOAP is a project of the Latin Americanist Research Resources Project - LARRP, in collaboration with LANIC, to improve access to social sciences grey literature produced in Latin America. The portal provides access to working documents, pre-prints, research papers, statistical documents, and other difficult-to-access materials from the "deep Web." Typically, this content is published by research institutes, non-governmental organizations, and peripheral agencies that are not controlled by commercial publishers.

Presidential Messages

This collection contains over 75,000 pages of digitized full text, in Spanish, of speeches delivered by Argentine and Mexican presidents between the early 19th century and the late 1990s.

Onda Latina

The Onda Latina Collection consists of 226 digitally preserved audio programs including interviews, music, and informational programs related to the Mexican American community and their concerns from the radio series "The Mexican American Experience" and "A esta hora conversamos" the Longhorn Radio Network, 1976-1982.

LLILAS Archive

This collection is the digital historical record of the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies at UT Austin. It contains a broad array of full text documents detailing the day to day activities and intellectual production at LLILAS. This includes the LLILAS Calendar Archive, with issues starting in 1995; the LLILAS Conference Proceedings Archive, with material from all LLILAS conferences held since 1994; back issues of Portal, the LLILAS annual review; and several working paper series.

Archivo de Lucas Alamán

The Archivo consists of an inventory with descriptions of 364 manuscripts from the Papers of Mexican statesman and historian, don Lucas Alamán.
