Privatization in the Global Economy:

    Abstract

    Several factors have motivated the drive toward privatization in the global economy. Different privatization programs around the world depend on the specific objectives, strategies, methods and forms of implementation. Privatization is a complex process that interacts with several sectors and professional and functional areas, like accounting, in order to be carried out successfully. Several countries show impressive accomplishments in their privatization programs, like the United Kingdom , Chile , Brazil , Argentina. Many lessons have been learned in relation to this process, and among the most important are, the political nature of the process, and the need for a stable macroeconomic environment.
