2005 Annual National Forum on Trade Policy

December 7-8, 2005

The National Forum on Trade Policy is an annual, national-level conference that brings together academics, business leaders and federal- and state-level policy makers.

The 2005 conference will have a regional focus on border issues and homeland security, and will address the effects of federal policy in these two areas on state-level policy-making and on industry. Participants will include academic experts on homeland security policy and border policy, federal- and state-level trade officials and business leaders of multinational corporations.

The conference will convene leading higher-education faculty conducting research on the topics of focus to share expertise and exchange ideas with other participants. It will also be an important outreach event to the business community at the national level. In a departure from a traditional speaker/audience format, presenters and participants will address together questions and business challenges raised by federal legislation.
