Peace Education and Sustainability in Mexico

This symposium is part of the collaboration between The University of Texas and The Universidad Albert Einstein, a 25-year old university atop a 10,000-foot mountain outside of Mexico City. UAE specializes in Peace Education and outreach to at-risk youth, and is developing a new master's curriculum in Environmental Education.
Speakers will include UAE faculty, UT faculty, and leaders of Austin-area non-profits. Following the presentations, working groups will develop potential collaborative learning exchanges between UT and UAE on peace education, environmental education, and community outreach to at-risk youth.
The format of the symposium will be composed of two parts. The first part will take the form of a pecha kucha: brief presentations composed of 10 images and lasting 5 minutes each. The second part will divide participants into three breakout groups that will seek to deepen the conversation about peace, education, and sustainability and explore potential collaborative possibilities between the two universities.
